What Do EDT, EDP, and EDC Mean?

These terms refer to the concentration of fragrance oils in a perfume, which determines how strong and long-lasting the scent will be. The oils are blended with alcohol (and sometimes water), and different types contain varying levels of these aromatic compounds:

  • Eau de Parfum (EDP) – Contains 10–20% fragrance oils (typically around 15%). It offers a rich, long-lasting scent that lingers for hours.

  • Eau de Toilette (EDT) – Contains 5–15% fragrance oils (typically around 10%). It’s lighter and great for everyday wear.

  • Eau de Cologne (EDC) – Contains 3–8% fragrance oils (typically around 5%). It’s fresh and subtle, perfect for a quick refresh or warm weather.

In short, the higher the concentration, the stronger and longer the fragrance lasts.
